The weather has been great and the fishing is picking up. Nice crappie and gills on the river near wing dams with structure or in the back waters under structures. Use a betts jig and fish right next to the trees in the water and hang on. Gills and perch are just starting to become active eon the lake fish near the edges o weed beds with a slip bobber and a jig tipped with a red worm or wax worm for best results. The perch seem to be right on the bottom and the gills are up higher. Bass and northern are going after the top water weedless frogs, moss boss, and rats. I think it will only get better as we get closer to the fall. If you go out on the river watch out for wing dams because the water level I the pool is at 5.2 feet now and dropping.
