Report for LAKE ONALASKA 10-10-2008
Crappie are near the dredge hole off the drop off in front of halfway creek also try, the fingers by the fish cribs. Set you bobber shallow (no more than 4 feet) and you should find yourself with some nice fish. Perch are still hitting out in the lake near arrowhead Island on the larger pike minnow or crawlers off the bottom. Gills continue to feed getting ready for the long winter and wax worms have been the best along with red worms, some guys are using a swedish pimple tipped with a wax worm and doing very well. Fish the gills near the bottom for best results. Good luck fishing, I think we only have a few weeks left before the lake turns over and things slow down. The river should be good for a while longer and the walleye and sauger should start to hit near the dams on hair jigs and a minnow bouncing it off the bottom as you drift with the current. Walleye will start to heat up once we get colder water temps 40 - 50 degrees, Right now we are in the low 60s.
